Energy Digital’s 2024 covers range from renewable wind energy to smart technologies and even a milestone anniversary

2024 has seen many changes across the energy landscape, from renewables taking over the mix to AI improving efficiency, and Energy Digital has covered it all. 

We’ve taken a look back at the covers of our 2024 issues.

February

Our first edition of the year looked to the future of renewable energy with experts predicting how the industry will develop. 

Arturo Difilippi, Large Power Offering Director at Vertiv, says: “We believe in collaborating with customers, peers and other industry leaders on environmental matters.”

February also brought a look at predictive AI and its potential to streamline the energy sector and how a diverse workforce can support the industry to make a positive impact.

April

Abdul Khaled, Head of Digital and Customer Experience at E.ON Next, is April’s Energy Digital cover star. He explored how the startup is revolutionising customer experience and sustainability with its innovative customer-focused approach. 

“We’ve got engineers sitting alongside customer service agents, really trying to bridge that gap between delivery and those that are really close to the customers,” Abdul explains.

Energy Digital took a look back at Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero 2024 and explored the impact of Schneider Electric’s Electricity 4.0 with Pankaj Sharma, EVP of the Secure Power Division and Data Centre Business.

June

June 2024 marked 10 years of Energy Digital with an animated cover. 

Maya Derrick, Editor of Energy Digital, says: “Our title has grown into a vibrant community and trusted space for knowledge sharing and fostering collaboration. We will continue on from this anniversary as a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.”

This month, Energy Digital celebrated Ignacio Galán’s career as Executive Chairman of Iberdrola and E.ON looked at gender equality in the energy industry.

August

Jenna Brown, Head of Uber for Business UK, is August’s cover star. She discussed the company’s positive contribution to the energy space. 

“When you have access to data, you can then make smarter and more informed decisions,” Jenna explains.

Energy Digital also celebrated Katherine Neebe’s career as Chief Sustainability Officer of Duke Energy and explored Ampace’s revolutionary energy storage systems. 

October

Electron’s Co-Founder and CEO Jo-Jo Hubbard made her way to the October cover discussing the platforms and ecosystems revolutionising the energy transition amid rising energy costs and climate pressures. 

Jo-Jo says: “We understand that greater volumes of flexibility will drive more value for system operators.”

October also brought a special report on hydrogen’s decarbonising power and a look at industrial decarbonisation with McKinsey, DCC Energy and atNorth.

December

Jodie Eaton, CEO at Shell Energy UK, finished 2024 with a bang discussing how smart technologies and innovation can support decarbonisation efforts. 

“At Shell, we’re committed to leading the way in sustainability, progressing decarbonisation and becoming a net zero emissions energy business by 2050,” Jodie explains.

Also this month, Energy Digital celebrated Amin H. Nasser’s lifetime of achievement as CEO of Aramco and solar power was on the rise.
