Job To: Chief Sustainability Officer of Schneider Electric

Chris Leong is Schneider Electric’s first official Chief Sustainability Officer.

Assuming her role on 1 January, Chris previously served as CMO for a decade and has a 13-year tenure at the company.

As CSO, Chris is responsible for driving Schneider Electric's sustainability strategy, commitments and engagements. Her focus will encompass areas such as corporate citizenship, institutional affairs, sustainability performance and environmental impact.

Chris’ appointment underscores Schneider Electric’s commitment to maintaining its position as a global leader in sustainability. Schneider hopes that in her role, Chris can “advance the company’s sustainability commitments and goals, continuing to strengthen its leadership position in the field”.

Speaking of her new role, Chris says: “I am honored to take on a new responsibility as the Chief Sustainability Officer for Schneider Electric, the Most Sustainable Company in the World. What a way to celebrate my 13-year anniversary at Schneider Electric.

“It’s an incredible privilege to be given this opportunity to take the amazing foundation built on Sustainability for over 20 years at Schneider to the next level and to learn from the incredibly talented and passionate Schneider Sustainability team and community around the world.”

Chris brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She joined Schneider Electric in 2012 as Executive Vice President of Digital Customer Experience before becoming CMO in 2015. Her background includes senior roles at Nokia and WPP Group, where she worked with global brands across Asia and Europe.

“More than just a mission; it's the “why” behind everything we do at Schneider. It is our guiding north star that ignites our curiosity, encouraging us to question the status quo and unleash innovative ideas to overcome challenges that may seem daunting.

“We firmly believe that a just transition enabling an inclusive economy is the backbone to bridge progress and sustainability for all, paving the way towards our collective net zero ambition.”
