This report shows the company's ambitious goals and commitments in the realm of energy by aligning its growth strategy with a robust four-pillar sustainability framework.
The company's operations span more than 100 manufacturing facilities across more than 25 countries, and it is focussed on electrifying and decarbonising the world's energy systems while reinforcing the importance of conserving resources and thriving sustainably.
Strengthening energy infrastructure
Defined as the world’s energy manufacturer, GE Vernova stands on a legacy tracing back to the innovative electrification endeavours of Thomas Edison.
Currently, the company enhances global energy grids with gas turbines, wind blades, modular reactors and sophisticated grid software systems.
These developments are supported by a broad supplier network and significant raw material investments, which fuel its manufacturing edge and enable impactful sustainability and operational outcomes.
Global power expansion and efficiency
GE Vernova integrated 31 GW of new power capacity in 2024, contributing to the global electricity landscape.
The company significantly bolstered grid reliability by activating 71 GW of grid-enabling capacity and implementing 310,000 automation units along with 6 GW of solar inverters.
An impressive 25% of the world’s electricity is now transmitted through GE Vernova's technological solutions.
A portion of this power was delivered to emerging economies, bolstering energy access in countries like Iraq, Turkey, Ghana and Nigeria, thereby addressing global energy equity concerns.
Renewable growth and emissions reduction
Further commitments to the future include a target of adding 150 GW of new energy generation capacity by 2030.

These initiatives not only cater to traditional power demands but also align with increasing electricity consumption from sectors like AI and data centres, projected to account for a substantial percentage of US electricity use.
To cater to these rising demands, GE Vernova is innovating dispatchable generation technologies such as high-efficiency gas turbines and small modular reactors, alongside AI-powered grid management solutions.
In an endeavour to minimise environmental impact, GE Vernova also recorded a reduction in carbon intensity of new capacity, achieving 368 g CO₂/kWh, a figure well below the global average.
The company's strategies have led to a 38% decrease in gross Scope 3 emissions.
The focus remains on advancing technologies including small modular reactors and carbon capture, which contribute to significant emissions reductions and support its net zero goals.
While scaling solutions for energy production, GE Vernova maintains a strong emphasis on circularity and resource efficiency.
The company is increasing the coverage of its product lines under the 4R circularity framework, aiming for 90% by 2030, which promises a holistic approach to sustainability governance and long-term energy impact.
