Linde Leads with New On-Site Plants Drive

In the world of industrial gases, Linde stands out this year by claiming its title for the highest number of newly signed small on-site project deals for the fifth year running.
The company entered into 59 long-term contracts to handle nitrogen and oxygen supply in 2024, each leading to the construction, ownership and operation of 64 fresh plants located directly on customer premises.
This significant achievement rides on the back of heightened demand in sectors such as electronics and initiatives focused on cutting down carbon emissions.
Enhancing technology and sustainability
Linde’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancement and environmental care is clearly reflected in its latest business wins.
Sanjiv Lamba, Linde’s CEO, says: “Linde’s unwavering commitment to innovation is reflected in our leading-edge technology portfolio, which is best positioned to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
“Our small on-site plants fully leverage this and provide cost-effective solutions that help our customers enhance efficiency while reducing emissions.”
These plants are instrumental in providing essential gases for myriad industrial processes which demand high precision and sustainability.
The surge in electric vehicle (EV) production has notably driven the demand for Linde’s services, particularly within the electronics sector.
As the EV market grows, manufacturers are increasingly dependent on Linde’s industrial gases and cutting-edge solutions to boost production efficacy and achieve sustainability goals.
Beyond electronics, Linde has also attracted partnerships with manufacturers in the glass and metal industries who are keen to improve operational efficiency and decrease carbon footprints.
All newly planned facilities will be equipped with Linde's proprietary ECOVAR technology, designed for top efficiency, adaptability and reliability.
This technology ensures lower energy consumption in gas production, thus supporting customers’ green objectives while guaranteeing a consistent gas supply.
Strategic investments spur growth
These projects align perfectly with Linde’s rigorous investment criteria, aimed at ensuring that each site not only boosts long-term profitability but also operational excellence.
The swift timelines associated with these plants are set to quickly yield financial benefits, solidifying Linde's leadership in the industrial gases market.
Additionally, the new sites will improve Linde's network density, enhancing its capacity to serve a growing customer base and optimise its logistical and supply chain operations.
Linde’s ability to secure a consistent number of on-site projects amid rapid market transformations speaks volumes about its adaptability and superior product quality.
These traits have drawn various clients, especially those pursuing decarbonisation goals.
Broad industrial impact
In 2023, Linde achieved a whopping US$33bn in sales, thanks to its expansion capacity and its ability to cater to a diverse range of industries.
The company remains driven by its mission to bolster global productivity through its array of high-quality solutions, technologies and services that not only foster client success but also contribute to worldwide sustainability efforts.
Linde’s gases and technologies are vital in numerous critical applications such as clean hydrogen production, carbon capture and even the provision of lifesaving medical oxygen.
With each advancing year, and particularly with this record-setting sequence of agreements for on-site projects, Linde continues to reinforce its commanding presence in the industrial gases sector, pushing the boundaries of innovation, sustainability and efficiency.
