Datacloud to Confront Energy Consumption in an AI-Led Era

The energy implications of AI will take centre stage at Datacloud Global Congress in Cannes this June, as the data centre industry confronts unprecedented power demand forecasts.
The 20th anniversary event, scheduled for 3-5 June 2025 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, arrives at a critical juncture for energy executives seeking solutions to the mounting power requirements of data infrastructure.
Organised by techoraco, the congress will gather decision-makers from across the digital infrastructure ecosystem to address energy challenges exacerbated by AI workloads, which consume significantly more power than traditional computing applications.

How Datacloud will examine future power requirements
A keynote panel featuring Val Walsh, VP at Microsoft, Otto Kreiter, Director Global Infrastructure at Google, and data centre industry veteran Susanna Kass will open the congress with a session focused on the energy challenges of global infrastructure scaling.
The panel will explore how hyperscale providers are addressing power availability constraints and energy efficiency requirements while expanding to meet AI computation demands.
Discussions will cover forecasting methodologies for energy consumption, strategies for securing renewable power purchase agreements, and innovations in energy-efficient computing.
Executives will also discuss the fine line between balancing AI application growth and the physical constraints of power grid capacity in key markets, offering energy professionals context for infrastructure planning decisions.
Across the two days, other speakers include:
- Dame Dawn Childs, CEO at Pure Data Centres Group
- Doug Loewe, CEO at Kao Data
- Thierry Chamayou, Vice-President of Cloud and Service Providers in EMEA at Schneider Electric
- Richard Bienfait, Chief Financial Officer at STACK Infrastructure
