Behind Michelle T Davies & Rob McNabb's Departure from EY

Top sustainability partners Michelle T Davies and Rob McNabb have announced their transition from consultancy firm EY to the legal firm Jones Day.
“Today I began a new adventure joining Jones Day as a partner in its hugely successful Energy team,” Michelle says.
“Jones Day is wholly committed to focusing on the energy sector, recognising how critical energy now is for all our clients.
“Energy has become the bankability and investment issue for future growth and lawyers are at the very heart of the challenges and the opportunities the market presents.”
She adds: “I leave behind an incredible Energy Transition and Sustainability Team at EY. They gave me support, encouragement and belief and I know will continue to help clients navigate the energy transition successfully and valuably.”
Rob made a short announcement on his LinkedIn profile, saying: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Partner at Jones Day!”
About Michelle T Davies
Michelle brings more than 35 years of legal expertise, having carved a distinguished path within international law.
In a previous interview with Sustainability Magazine, she said: “I always wanted to practise internationally after graduating with a first class honours degree in Law from UCL.
“I studied as a Fulbright Scholar in the US where I graduated with a master of law degree in international law. I then took the New York Bar and qualified as a New York attorney before coming back to the UK and qualifying here.”
Michelle’s family lives in Wales, but due to work she is based between London and Wales.
“I had my first foray into sustainability when I was asked by the law firm I was a partner with at the time if I would help a client looking to buy some biomass and onshore wind projects,” Michelle continued.
In Jones Day's announcement, Michelle says: "I'm excited to join Rob in this move to Jones Day's London office and eager to collaborate with my new colleagues around the world as we help our clients complete the projects that will drive their organisational objectives forward."
Introducing Rob McNabb
Rob graduated from Cardiff University in the late 90s. Shortly after graduating he became a partner for a firm where he spent nearly 25 years.
Although not specialising in sustainability for several years of his career, he has advised on 50 GW of clean energy projects across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
At Jones Day he will be focusing on the construction of energy and infrastructure projects.
